How to keep replication after both servers (Pub/Sub) shutdown?

  • Sql server 2008 R2 (Ent) with Transactional replication configured, Publisher- physical box, Subscriber- virtual one. Plan is to migrate storage from one Vendor to another, i.e. both servers be shutdown for the period from 2 to 4 hours (while data be copied). How to do this (shutdown) properly (like stop Log Reader job, etc) to avoid Replication reconfiguration from scratch after start? Ideally, start servers and we are back an a game. Thanks

  • stop distribution agent b/w publisher and subscriber
