Admin report

  • I have created a SSRS report creating row based access for specific Windows accounts.

    How do I create an admin account here which can have access to the entire report(all rows).

  • Not sure if it will work for you, but the easiest way would be to make a copy of the report and then in the copy, remove the filters. Then you can give only specific groups of users access to the report.

    I currently have built a SSRS report where only specific rows appear to people accessing the report based on their Windows login.Now I would like to create an admin level access to this same report where when the administrator accesses this report all the rows should be visible to the admin.How do I achieve this.

    Trying to achive this I created 2 filters for the same report one filter for invidual users who will have access to specific rows based on their Windows login and one more filter based on the admin login column which runs across all the rows.I tried creating one more column with the admin's login across all the rows and tried accessing the report but it did not work.

    Ex: Col A Col B

    Windows Login A Admin login

    Windows Login B Admin login

    Windows Login C Admin login

    Windows Login D Admin login

    Windows Login E Admin login

    Windows Login F Admin login

    Windows Login A or B or C or D or E or F will have access to specific rows where their Windows login is present and admin login will have access to the entire report.Two filters created for each of these above 2 columns equating them to &UserID.

    Windows login filter works.Each Windows login is able to access only their specific rows.But Admin login did not work.

    How can I prompt this report for a username/password which I can passon to the administrator so and make sure the admin has access to all the rows when he authenticates the report using the given usernae/password.Can I do this for this same report.

    Any advice is much appreciated.
