SQL Agent Proxy Account

  • Hello Everyone

I am working with some rather odd situations in allowing Users to create, delete, View and Modify SQL Agent Jobs. I have created a Credential and a Proxy Account. But I need to be able to execute a SQL Job that is nothing more than a T-SQL script in some jobs. There are SSIS Packages in some, but for the most part, T-SQL scripts are in the SQL jobs.

I find that this is not allowed. Surely someone has had this same need. What are my other options in allowing End users to admin their own SQL Jobs? And other jobs that are owned by another User? I have granted the User access by adding the User to the MSDB database and adding the User to the SQLAgentOperatorRole. I do need to allow the Users to Execute the SQL Jobs that have T-SQL script code.

I am hoping someone has experience this same thing, and will share the process as to how they solved the issue.

    Thank you in Advance

    Andrew SQLDBA
