I know it's not supported. SQL Server 2005 has only extended support anyway. Microsoft's "fix" is to uninstall SQL Server 2005. I don't get to dictate application upgrades. We are building new servers to run SQL Server, and I would rather install Windows Server 2012 to avoid upgrading them after everything is in production.
