Hi, am a complete novice with SSAS....our SSAS guy is out on vacation and I have request of promoting a SSAS CUBE...I have no idea what they are talking...but all they need is someone to promote the cube...can anyone suggest easy and efficient way to do it please...URGENT

If by "promoting" mean "deploying":
Analysis Services Deployment Methods
What I usually do:
1. Deploy the SSAS cube from BIDS to a deployment server.
2. Unprocess the cube. (process clear)
3. Back up the cube (and compress it as well)
4. Copy the backup file to the specific backup folder on the production server.
5. Restore the backup over the current cube in production. WARNING! In the restore dialog you can configure the security settings. Make sure you do not overwrite the security settings of the current cube. Choose to not overwrite.
6. After the restore, process the entire cube (process full).
