I have a new Server 2012 R2 and have installed SQL Server 2014. We are a very small shop; only 15 users. Performance has never been an issue and our software is purchased from a company in Dallas. I've never had to do anymore than install client updates, and the necessary database changes were made automatically.
I've read a lot of articles on moving databases to SQL Server 2014 and frankly I can't seem to decide which method is best? Should I manually enter the security information in the master database then just create the databases and restore from backups, letting Server 2014 perform the upgrades? Or should I use the wizard to handle all of it.
This is something that has to be finished before year end so that I can run the necessary closing routines. Any and all suggestions and information would be greatly appreciated!

Yup.
You've done all the pre-upgrade testing, ensured that nothing breaks on 2014, that there's no code that you're using that is not supported in 2014, that there are no performance regressions due to the changes in the optimiser?
