Class not registered error when attempting to browse a cube

  • I'm trying to get a test cube to work but when I try to use the browser after deployment I get this error

'Can't browse Cube and Explore data. Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))'

I've done a bit of research and one solution is to install OWC 11 from Microsoft. However I haven't got the access to install this on the server where I've built my cube. Is there any other solution?

  • OWC is a client technology, and am guessing you're using BIDS on your local - have you tried to install /update your local machine?

    Steve.

  • I'm using BIDS but I probably should have said before that I'm actually working on a jumpbox. Everything's hunky-dory when I build cubes locally but I'm trying to build one to look at real data and I have to go to the jumpbox for that. I haven't got the access to install things on the jumpbox.
