I inherited a vendor database with very uneven file growth\free space and want to try and clean it up. Two separate file groups, 7 files per. Each one contains a file much larger than the other 6. My plan is to grow the smaller files to the size of the largest file in each group, then set the max file size on the 2 largest files. Eventually I'd like to enable trace flag 1117 as this is the only db on the server. Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
