ODBC Connectivity Issue

  • Hi,

Recently we migrated a database to SQL Server 2012 version and configured mirroring on it as per the requirement by the client. One of a client's application is running on Linux environment, and it is not connecting the database server due to ODBC connectivity error. It seems Microsoft has limitation for this.

Client asks for an alternate way to connect database server. Can you please suggest me if there is any alternate way to connect from application server to the database server?

    Thanks

Quick questions, what Linux distribution and version are you using and what odbc drivers are you using?

    😎

  • Linux 2.6.32

    ODBC 2.3.0

    Linux 2.6.32

    ODBC 2.3.0

Which distribution (RedHat, Suse, Ubuntu etc.)?

  • Guess you are on RHEL 6 given your kernel version;-), check this out "Microsoft ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server on Linux"

    😎

  • Thank you for your immediate response! It is Redhat.

  • It says, Database Mirroring is not supported by ODBC 11.0

    Please refer the link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh568445(v=sql.110).aspx

Then my suggestion is to check out EasySoft's odbc driver
