  • Can you explain further the idea of selling recordings of the sessions to attendees? Is it an additional fee over an above the conference fee?

  • Nice picture there Legs!

Free for download for attendees, additional fee if you want them on a flash drive sent to you.

Is there a non-attendee option that you know of?

  • I'm glad to see that a good cause (Doctors without Borders) is supported.

  • "There were more people looking to secure their systems, though a surprising number of people using TDE had never attempted a DR restore. Please, please, do this. Make sure that you know how to restore systems. Whether you're a developer or DBA, at some point hardware will fail and you need to be sure you can recover your system. "

Amazing that we still need to remind people to make sure a database backup can be restored.

The more you are prepared, the less you need it.

I think it's more that people who have TDE databases somehow thing a restore is the same on the orginal instance, and on a DR instance. It's not, and you should be aware that you need to restore the certificate as well (and understand setting up a master key).

I guess we have seen a different set of companies. TDE or no TDE, verifying backup, HA and DR all seem to be a bit weak. But, it is much better.

Shockingly, I have found the same to be true. Not everywhere, mind you.

    http://www.sqlpass.org/summit/2014/FAQ.aspx

What is included on the PASS Summit 2014 session recordings and how can I purchase them?

The PASS Summit 2014 session recordings include all the conference sessions, including Day 1 and Day 2 keynotes, half-day sessions, and Lightning Talks. (Note: Pre-Conference Sessions are not recorded.) Attendees can purchase either the session recordings download option for $195 or the recordings on USB flash drive for $240. Note: Shipping charges for the USB flash drive are $20 within the continental US and $30 international. Streaming of the sessions will be made available for free to attendees after Summit.

Non-attendees can order the session recordings on USB flash drive from the PASS Store after the conference for $495.

When will the session recordings be available?

The session recordings will be available for attendees to download approximately 4-5 weeks after Summit. The recordings on USB flash drive will be mailed soon after that.

  • Thanks Benjamin.
