error when dbower trying to change database property.

  A developer is granted dbowner of some his own databases.

  Some of the databases are set to read_only.

  He tried to change some databases from read only back to read write from management studio, so he goes to the database name, right click and it pops up an error message something like: there is no guest account exists in the database.

  What does that mean? Can db owner change the database from read-only or read-write?

  For Altering Database Properties, I reckon you would require a Server level ALTER privileges.

  Being DB_Owner would not be sufficient.
