Hi Experts,
Our app team is not able to install one application as it is failing with error
Login failed for user 'ladakh\abc'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database 'new_upgrade'.
We have db named 'new' and not database exists with name 'new_upgrade'. Anyone have any idea from where the hit might come? We have checked config files and everything seems fine.

Can you check the properties for this login and see what the default database is set to?

Its set to master only.

Have you tried setting up a Profiler trace on this server for failed logins? This will give you the hostname and possibly the application name of the connection to.
Are you able to connect to SSMS as this login directly?
