Microsoft Baseline Configuration Analyzer 2.0 showing only 2008 R2 BPA

  • Hello experts,

I'm trying to run the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Best Practices Analyser (BPA) against a SQL 2012 server. First I open the Microsoft Baseline Configuration Analyzer 2.0 program.

I check the "Select a product" dropdown and see two options: SQL Server 2012 BPA and SQL Server 2008 R2 BPA.

Then I choose Connect to Another Computer. I connect to my desired server.

At that point, the SQL Server 2012 BPA option disappears from the "Select a product" dropdown. But that is the BPA that I want to run. The dropdown still shows SQL Server 2008 R2 BPA, but of course that version doesn't work against the SQL 2012 server, and I wouldn't want to use it in this case even if it did.

Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? Let me know if you need any other information.

Thanks in advance for any help.
