Licensing Options

  • We have SQL 7.0 and must upgrade to 2000.  We are licensed per seat, but upgrading will end up costing nearly 25K$ (100 per seat).  Are there other options that may be cheaper, such as per server? 

     

    Any suggestions would be very helpful and appreciated!

    You could license SQL Server per processor !  Usually cheaper when a lot of client licenses are involved. Break-even point is about 26 CAL's per Processor license.
