How to detect my report is running for the 1st time for a user

    I want to be able to set a default for a parameter only the 1st time a report is opened. How can I detect that a report is being accessed for the 1st time

    You could query the ExecutionLog table in the ReportServer database. Would that work for you?

    So the only reason why I want to check if the report is running for the 1st time is because I want to set a parameter to a certain value
