Hi

I am testing updating statistics using the "WITH FULLSCAN" option.

Updating one set of INDEX stats takes a few minutes, but updating one set of COLUMN stats on the same table can take several hours.

Can anybody shed some light on this? Is this what you would expect?

Thanks in advance

What are the data types involved in the index stat and the column stat? Is the index filtered? Can you supply DDL for the table definition and the index definition.
