after removing last node from cluster - uninstall from node??

  • I am uninstalling and reinstalling SQL Server 2008 R2 on a cluster. Instructions on how to uninstall from a cluster have you remove all the nodes.

After doing so, I notice that there still is Microsoft SQL Server R2 listed in Control Panel | Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs).

Should I also uninstall from there???

    Thanks!

To completely remove a clustered instance of SQL Server you run the "Remove node" option in the installer maintenance section on each node joined to the instance. Uninstalling the last node will remove the instance completely.

What you are seeing left in Add\Remove programs are the shared components, these are not touched during a clustered instance uninstall. Remove them if you wish
