  • Hi,

This article http://www.made2mentor.com/2011/02/different-types-of-joins/ covers the basics.

For more in depth details Microsoft's own article on it is very comprehensive. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191517(v=sql.105).aspx

If you have any specific scenarios in which you need some help determining the most appropriate join don't hesitate to ask providing as much detail as you can.

    Best regards

    Ben

It takes a minimal capacity for rational thought to see that the corporate 'free press' is a structurally irrational and biased, and extremely violent, system of elite propaganda.

Society has varying and conflicting interests; what is called objectivity is the disguise of one of these interests - that of neutrality. But neutrality is a fiction in an unneutral world. There are victims, there are executioners, and there are bystanders... and the 'objectivity' of the bystander calls for inaction while other heads fall.

  • adu dina thanks a lot for your help....

dear BenWard my scenario is to join the tables to retrive the information based on his/her year of pass, degree, city ..... so & so forth please help me out.

  • Hi Surya, this is a very vague scenario and could involve any number of different joins and clauses depending on your data structure. Do you have example table definitions and example data?

http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/Best+Practices/61537/ This article explains how to post questions that we can answer more directly/definitively and is worth reading.

However I suspect that your scenario is likely a simple one that you could answer for yourself with a little extra knowledge of SQL queries.

Are you new to SQL or do you already have some experience with it?
