    Yes, indeed. For over 30 years now I've said (paraphrased) "Losers have excuses, winners have solutions."

  • I have always believed that it was up to me to find ways to add value - especially if I expected to have added compensation. I feel that I am pretty well compensated for the skill set I bring - not overpaid, but not underpaid either.

    At this point, I'm not driven by finding ways to increase my compensation but I am still very motivated to make sure that I provide the value for which I am paid.

    I want to be remembered (when I retire happily) as someone who cared deeply about the quality of their work.

  • Thanks for the reminder - it is me who creates me. The environment can produce tools/opportunities to allow me to shape me, but ultimately I have to take responsibility for who and what I am today.
