How many people could multiply 43564 x 35794 without a Calculator.

Frank, the question is not how many can multiply this without a calculator, but how many can multiply it with or without a calculator?

Steve,

I'm a religious follower of the SQLServerCentral.com site. Also thrilled to hear that you are coming here to Fargo. (That's what I call home.) You'll be disappointed to hear that the movie Fargo was never even filmed anywhere close to our location as it was filmed in Minnesota. Would love to be able to attend the SQLSaturday this weekend, but other priorities right now. Have a great flight and stay in the wonderful state of North Dakota.

Thanks, and sorry I'll miss you.

I'll still take a thrill in seeing the woodchipper.

I would guess many people could, but probably not quickly. I do like that we teach our kids to do math, but move them along quickly to using calculators and computers. That's the way the world has moved. They know the basics, but if there is a pinch, they can go backwards.

I'd like to see more places practice some of these fallbacks and ensure people understand what is happening inside the computer. Then they at least have an idea, even if they are rusty, if there is an issue.
