Connecting to Excel Macro Connection via Windows 7 Task Scheduler

  • Hello,

I am currently running an SSIS package that connects to an Excel Macro enabled file and loads these records to a table. I had to download a driver (Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine Excel 12.0) as the provider for the excel connection manager in order to access the file with Bids 2008. When I run this manually, the entire process runs perfectly every time. I decided to automate this so I set it up to run via Windows Task Scheduler 7 and it keeps failing on the Excel Macro connection. It says it can't acquire the connection. The error log shows

"SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "Excel Macro Connection" failed with error code 0xC0209303. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed. "

Which is strange because it works fine when I run the package manually. The windows task scheduler is set to run with my credentials as well so it shouldn't be an access/permissions issue. Any ideas why this won't run with the task scheduler?

    Thanks,

    Frank
