I've got WordPress on my blog and need some help. When I'm blogging about SQL Server, I frequently go "below the box," past the bottom of the post box. While I'm writing, and I think when WP is saving my drafts, the text keeps "bouncing" back up to the top, displaying the first few paragraphs. The cursor doesn't go along with it, so if I keep typing, the text keeps bouncing between bottom and top (which gives me quite the headache and makes it hard to concentrate on what I'm doing).

In addition, if I'm uploading / inserting screenshots for examples, WP insists on putting the picture code right before the first sentence instead of where my cursor is located when I hit upload/insert. This forces me to cut the code from that spot and paste it in the appropriate spot of my blog.

Is there a solution to either of these problems? I can (sort of) deal with the screenshot thing, but the bouncing text is a real (and literal) pain.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had similar problems. I believe I solved it by increasing the size of the text box. The number of lines available is in options.

When you encounter a problem, if the solution isn't readily evident go back to the start and check your assumptions.

I am logged into my dashboard and do not see Options on my left-hand menu.

Is it hiding, perhaps, in one of the theme files?

No, I don't think that's it. Sadly I'm at work and don't have immediate access to my blogs (passwords are at home). I can look tonight and let you know?

That would be great. Thank you.

Gosh darnit.

On-the-fly resizing works, but my Writing Settings doesn't have a line count for the post box.

@=(

I guess I'll keep looking for the default setting. At least on-the-fly resizing will help.

EDIT: Thank you for your help.

It doesn't? Weird. I'll check mine at home tonight anyway to see if it is different.

And I'm glad to help.
