Hi, I'm setting up log shipping for a 2008 R2 database. I have my primary and secondary servers installed. For the log shipping monitor can I point to any 2008 R2 sql server that is not my primary or secondary? I don't want to have to install another server if I don't have to.

Better to have instance allocated which is dedicated as LOG shipping monitor, instead of using existing one.
Easier for long run maintainence and over haul down the years.
