Hi,
I have installed sql server 2005 express management studio.
After the successful installation, I try to open it and the connect to server window opens.
I use .\sqlexpress but it says:
Can not connect to .\sqlexpress

Any thoughts please?

I have installed sql server 2005 express management studio.

What you installed is just a management tool. It is useless unless there is a database engine for it to connect to. Did you already have SQL Server Express or SQL Server Express with Advanced Features installed? If not there is nothing for the management studio to connect to.
