Due to heavy Competetion, I feel like surveying in IT field as a developer ( any tool) for the next 5 - 10 years is little bit tough. Again I feel like we may have to do take any one arrow from the below list to survey in IT field to overcome the competetion ( Thousand & Millions of computer science and Non computer science graduates are coming into IT field for the last 3 - 4 years, after 5 - 10 years , how many people will become manager, DBA or Architect? If I work as a developer for the next 5 years the management will think to appoint new/young blood developer rather than the veteran hand ( due to high salary, not ready to work late hours due to family & kid)

a) By learning the latest on demand tools
b) Become a DBA ( It could be SQL/SYBASE/ORACLE)
c) Strong knowledge on any database/front end language
d) Moving from technical to Management ( If interested)
e) Moving to Architect position
f) Settle in Production support project
d) Corporate Trainer
e) Part Time Freelance Trainer
