I recently found when I use query window in SSMS, when I close the tab, it didn't ask me if I want to save the query sometimes.
For example If I script a key on the query window, if I try to close the tab, it won't prompt to save it or not. this makes me accidently close several tabs.
My question is anyone knows when the prompt shows up?
Thanks,

I believe that any generated scripts will not prompt for a save. Anything you modify at all should prompt you.

Regardless of what is in a query window, once it is changed in any way it should prompt you to save much like any other editor.
