Due to a Security Hardening exercise, I have been advised disable 'remote access' option on our SQL Environment. What is the impact of doing this. I have done a PoC, disabling allows client connections to the sql instances and does not break any functionality. But app owners are apprehensive about this option being disabled. MS article says only the remotely registered servers executing RPCs will not work. What does this mean? What is the exat nature of impact. Please can someone advise.
