my excel file has xlsx version.
and i am using visual studio 2005.
it gives me error at excel source connection. what version do i need to choose.

Either convert to 2003 Excel, .xls, or use the following method:
Using Excel 2007 files as a Source in SSIS 2005
Or upgrade to a recent version of SSIS, that's also an option.
