Installing SQL2000: Unable to update path variable - RegDBGetKeyValueEx

  • Hi I'm trying to install SQL 2000 Developer edition on my Laptop. Win 7.

I do clean uninstalls after each failure. I've switched off anti-virus and all programs I can think off. I have SQL2005 & 2008 R2 (Developer Editions) on teh machine all Associated services on 2005 & 2008 are off before I attempt install.

I have tried using machine admin rather than local service for the SQL services.

    Thanks any ideas?

  • Although a friend has managed to install in no problems I continue to have this problem.

This product is not supported on Win7.

To get around this I've installed it in XP mode on the win7 machine..
