SSRS 2008. Could not load.. Microsoft.ReportingServices.ProcessingCore.. Access is denied

  • An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError)

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.ProcessingCore, Version = 10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies.

    Access is denied.

    - Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 10.0.4000.0

    - Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP2) - 10.0.4000.0 (X64)

    - Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (VM)

I restarted the SSRS service (ReportingServicesService.exe) and it worked.

Why did the error occur though?

I have seen posts/fixes relating to this error for 2005, but not much for 2008.

  • getting below error when deploying reports from Visual Studio:

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.RdlObjectModel, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

    I tried both:

    - restarting sql service

    - restarting server

    but NO use..

  • any ideas?

  • I'm getting the same problem

Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SharePointException: Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. ---> System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.RdlObjectModel, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

I have 2 front end webservers doing NLB, one has gone down and we can't get it back up. The other should be able to carry on for a while by itself but but we're getting the above error when I try to edit a datasource in Sharepoint.

  • Does any one got the solution for this??

  • Try looking into Drive C:\Windows\winsxs folder to see if there are a lot of files and folders that are taking up a lot of space. We had this same error. Had to run cleanup utility listed in the following KB article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2795190. We also had to restart SSRS service after the utility ran.

    Gary
