SqlWB.exe - Application Error

    Hi Guys,

    I have a weird issue with my Management Studio. About a week ago the application isn't able to start and gives the following error message:

    Application popup: SqlWb.exe - Application Error : The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.

    I've searched the internet and the only thing I found that this could be due to a corrupted or missing .Net framework installation.

    I reinstalled the .Net framework but this didn't solve the issue.

    Does anybody know how to solve this issue.

    Hello,

    Try reinstalling (only) the client components of SQL server.

    I already thought that would be the case and already tried to do that. Unfortunately it's not possible to remove and than install SSMS when you already updates to SP4.

    That's why I installed SSMS of SQL 2008 which is also backwards compatible for SQL Server 2005.

    With SSMS of 2008 has it got resolved?

    Are you talking about on server directly trying to open SSMS?.

    SSMS was installed on the server and I wasn't able to open it due to the error.
