They always make me think of undersea adventure novels usually acquired in airports and read midflight in the pre-Kindle days when I'd be out of things to read... National Underwater and Marine Agency, anyone?
Undersea adventure novels? Never realized that was a category. See, I've learned 2 things from the QOTD.
Steve, sorry to take the discussion off-road, so to speak, away from soft-NUMA. I painted all the ceilings in my house this weekend. Must still be under the effects of the fumes.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Nice question, but I have to agree the "NODES" wording threw me off also.
I finally decided to go with the right answer for NODE and got lucky I guess.

Thanks for the question - Learned something today. Got it wrong, but makes the day worthwhile

can you create soft-NUMA nodes with CPUs 1 and 2?
>> Yes.
If the question had asked:
can you create a soft-NUMA node with CPUs 1 and 2?
>> No.
That threw me off. Didn't realize it was really asking for the singular.

I'm not sure that "nodes" was that confusing, but I've reworded it. I don't see a problem with the change.

I can only speak for myself - I found myself trying guess whether the questioner was being sneaky or not. I hadn't noticed that this was a Steve Jones question; if I had I would have estimated lower on the sneak-o-meter. Not a big deal, either way.
