Call for speakers

  • Hi All,

There are some chapter leaders who are regulars in SSC. I wanted a place where we could have a list of people who are interested in giving presentation using Netmeeting or any other online tool. I know of two who have presented and would like to do so again. That is Wayne and Jeff. If they do not have any objection I will add them to the list. Others please respond and let me know if you are interested in giving a presentation. I will put down my name first who is willing to give online presentation.

    1. Roy Ernest - Location : Curacao

    2. Gus Gwynne - Location : Orlando

    3. Grant Fritchey - Location : Boston (presentation in person with limited travel)

    4. Jeff Moden - Location : Detroit

    5. Jack Corbett - Location : Orlando (Prefer in person but can do Virtual presentation)

    6. Brandie Tarvin - Location : Jacksonville (Need help with setup of for netmeeting)

    7. Jason Brimhall - Location : Utah (In person if advance notice given and Netmeeting)

    8. Lynn Pettis - Location : Colorado (Netmeeting)

    9. Wayne Sheffield - Location: Richmond, VA

    Thanks

    -Roy

    Hey Roy,

You can put me down for virtual presentations, absolutely. Travel is something I can do, but it's very limited, so it probably needs to be in combination with other events like a SQL Saturday or something similar.

  • Done. I am adding location as well so that if there is a user group right next door to you, then you could give presentation in person as well. 🙂

  • I'm good with doing virtual presentations. I'll try to put a list of stuff together that I can speak on or would like to speak on.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • I can do virtual presentations although I prefer to be in-person if I'm traveling to that area for something else, or you'll pay my travel costs.

  • I'd need help setting up, but I wouldn't mind virtual presentations. Though, if a chapter is willing to pay for travel costs (or I'm in the area), I'd be willing to present in person.

I'm really good at the intro stuff, for those groups needing basic refreshers. I'm just now branching out into the intermediate stuff, so if someone has a suggestion, I can tell them whether or not I'm comfortable presenting that subject material.

  • Thanks Jack and Brandie. Please check if the location I have put in for you is correct.

    -Roy

  • Yep. That's correct.

  • Put me down Roy. Netmeeting yes, in person maybe (enough advance notice).
