| When replying to a message would it be possible to still be able to view the message you're replying to, so you can see the original message to refer to in your reply? An extreme example would be the Microsoft Technet forums, though I think that could be argued to be somewhat overkill with the mass of javascript / ajax they seem to use to do it. Simply including the post you're replying to at the bottom would be great.

Yup. Scroll down from the text box that the reply goes into. Below the box "Post options" is another section titled "Last 10 Posts In Descending Order". Click the + on the right.
If you click quote rather than reply, you'll also get the text of the message you're replying to surrounded by [ quote ] tags.
