changing instance name

Hi,

can i change the named instance name in sqlserver r2...if yes how can i change..

AFAIK you cannot rename a named instance.

Best is to just install an instance with the new name and port everything from your wrongly named instance to the new one.

After that process just uninstall the current instance.
