Hi there,

I'm trying to create a custom Windows event log, where all the regular SQL errors/informational logs can be logged into, rather than the default 'Application' log.

I've used the below link as a start (even though it relates to custom writen applications):

http://www.jasonsamuel.com/2010/01/08/creating-a-custom-event-log-under-event-viewer-to-log-server-events/

And created the custom log & moved the log subkeys from 'Application' to the new log (which I called MSSQL), however the events will not appear in the new log. They are not appearing in the application log (which is what I expected when I moved the subkeys.)

Has anybody else attempted to do this? I noted a couple of online examples for raising specific events, but I'd like the 'default' Event Log to be changed.

thanks, Mark
