We run here db prod server (clustered) that is Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.760 (Intel IA-64icrosoft Corporation Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 , the latest upgrade was SP3. We were trying to install SP4 and ran into this issue and had to abort. The issue was - When we ran the setup for the SP4 install, it prompted for the virtual server name for SQL. When "BFPDB02" was entered, we got an error: "The handle is invalid", not logged anywhere, not on the file system, not in the event log. The following KB article seemed to capture the problem: http://support.microsoftcom/kb/811882 but when we investigated, only the "SQL server" resource depended on the "SQL Network Name" resource.Any help will be appreciated
