While the network services account has some limited network privileges, it is impossible to assign explicit permissions to the Network Services internal account. Many forgot to mention setting up the "clean up" part which is equally important. There is also a SP "sp_purge_jobhistory" you can use.Nice summary article, like a BOL style documentation.
