I was tempted with this question, but decided to get it right instead - and now with maybe 21 people having picked the 4th option so far (it's still running at 1%) I feel as if those 21 have shown me up.;-)

Nice question, thanks! It is nice to see some of the SSMS features included in the QotD since people don't always explore and find them.

Doesn’t matter whether the leading whitespace is selected, as long as part of the line is selected.

I think the answer is not quite correct. The action only changes the LEADING spaces on a line to tabs.

It only "tabifies" groups of 4 spaces starting from the left, so if you have 5 spaces at the beginning of the line, you'll get a tab and a space after running this.I think it's the same in Visual Studio.Duncan
