Allow Users to Configure Email on Report Subscription

Hi. A user wishes to manage their own subscriptions. The user is a member of the 'Browser Role' which has 'Manage Individual Subscriptions' selected. When the user attempts to configure the report delivery option (email) the 'To' field is greyed out so they are unable to specify the recipient. Can anyone advise.Many Thanks,Phil.

I'm standing up a new Windows 2008 R2 Web Server. We've got an ASP.NET app that I'm copying over to the server, and trying to get it to work with the SSRS 2005 report in it. When I run the report it comes up with all of the images broken and none of the data displayed. The report, in this case, is a .RDLC report file. I've run the ReportViewer for .NET 2.0 on the server, and I thought that would take care of it, but it doesn't.So, what am I missing?

Adding a subscription whilst many users can still view a report

HelloI have a report which several users view, including myself. I have a request to set up a subscription so the report is delivered daily. However, when I go to set up the subscription I have the error message Subscription cannot be created because the credentials used to create the report are not stored...I can change the credentials in the data source to custom using my username and password and create the subscription but then the other users would not be able to see this report.How would I go about setting up a subscription so that several users can still view the report and the subscription can still deliver?Thanks for any help/understanding.

Our production database is in SQL Server 2005 SP4. We used to have SQL 2005 installed on a different server, but some years ago we had to migrate it off of that server to its current location. On the old server SSRS worked fine, had a nice web user interface that users could use fine, etc. However, on its current location something went wrong in setting up SSRS. Instead of a web interface, with links to the various reports, entering http://ourserver/reportserver in the web browser's address bar gives us a directory listing. This the users HATE, and thus won't use, so we're reduced to having to run all of the reports for them, since they refuse to run them for themselves.What did we do wrong? How do we fix it?

I'm standing up a new Windows 2008 R2 Web Server. I've copied one of our ASP.NET 2.0 apps to it, which includes a few SSRS reports (as .RDLC files). Years ago, when we first implemented a few of our SSRS reports in this web site, we had to run a ReportViewer installation, to get the SSRS reports to work. So, I thought I'd run the same ReportViewer.exe on the new 2008 R2 server, but I'm getting a message that doesn't make sense to it. It says that I've gone into Maintenance mode, either repair or uninstall. I don't want to do either, and apparently SSRS 2005 is already installed, so why don't our reports look right?

Moving snapshot history

I am in the process of moving report services databases to newer servers and to a different domain. During testing we have modified all the reports to work with a new service account id and to point to the new database server and data sources. The business that I am dealing with wants to move the historical snapshots to the new server on the weekend that the new servers go live. Because of all the changes made to the new reportserver database I don't want to restore the current production reportserver database and try to apply all the changes.My question: is there a way that I can bring over just the historical snapshots and how would I go about doing it. hello guys,I have the following issue, I am working on SSRS 2005 report.There are two images in the report which needs to be toggled by a report parameter.The Problem is, I have to display the [b]two images on the same location[/b]I am able to toggle the two images by placing side by side and using expression in the visibility tablike=iif(Parameters!CompanyID.Value=2,true,False)but i am required to display one of the the two images in one location depending the parameter selected.please help me.Thanks in advance

Lost Encryption Key

I was hired Monday because a customer's SSRS stopped working after another vendor attempted a production installation and had to back out their changes. The system previously was populated with a menu hierarchy by department. When I got there the Report Server home page would only show down to the orange/blue line. There were no controls available. After restarting the services we were able to get the controls visible for home, my subscriptions and help, plus the one below the line for admin. Somewhere in my investigation I saw the name "Tutorial" DB.I was able to navigate and added a folder, went through the admin menus, etc. No customer department menus or reports available.There was a key in SSRS, and I took a backup of it, supplying my own password. But the key may not have been the same key used by the system everyday before the failure. The vendor may have changed or deleted the key and created a new one. They definitely did not "restore" one, as there was not one to restore.On day two I requested a VM. It was created with Server 2003 SP2 and SS 2005. I patched it to the production level 9.0.3080 and restored the ReportServer DB (only) from the backup the day before.The VM system works almost identically, and oddly enough, includes the single folder I had made Monday night at 6:13 PM... the day before the VM was created. The ReportServer DB clearly has more data in it than the production DB (as viewed through SQL Server); but, the menus by department and reports are not there in SSRS.I have reverted the VM snapshot to original and will re-patch this morning, and using Backup Exec, will restore both ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB, to see if that makes a difference.Not sure what the next step will be. I believe my problem centers around not having a key. Does anyone have suggestions or tips for me?---------------------------Later that same day...The problem has been resolved on the VM. Immediately after the restore of ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB (and after services stated) in the key configuration, entered <delete> and immediately "restored" the key I had saved from production.All reports were available but requiring user authentication. Nothing else was lost when "deleting" the key... loosly identified as "the encrypted data in the DB" rather than specifically "authentication" identities.Everything I read online told me that I did not want to "delete" that key. In the end, it was probably the only way.Reporting Services Scriptor was a very useful tool, while it would not work against a database with no key, it clearly told me what had failed to work,why, and what to do about it. My hats off to Jasper Smith for making this tool available.Lots of fun being here today. Haven't worked on SQL in ages, and probably won't work on it again for ages.

2008 Subscription Error

Recently, we migrated two instances of RS 2005 to RS 2008. In one of the instances we encounter the following error when clicking 'OK' to create/modify a report subscription.[i]An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. (rsReportServerDatabaseError) Get Online Help Invalid object name 'ReportServerTESTTempDB.dbo.ExecutionCache'.[/i]Note: We have change the name of this instance. Thus, the object referred to above, is from the 2005 database. Whatever action is occuring to use this object, it should be looking for 'ReportServerStagingTempDB.dbo.ExecutionCache'Was it a mistake to change the names? Report Server not recognized email aliases

I have setup the report services and most of it seems to be working fine. When I create a subscription, the email is populated with the username, aadams for example. The problem is that when the subscription is executed it fails because of an invalid email address. If I add the rest of the mail, aadams@company.com, then it works just fine. Why isn't RS recognizing email aliases and where would I look to resolve this? Thanks

report server redirect to web page

issues> I am facing a strange issue.I have a report(rdl file) which has a link that redirects my web application url ie. http://myissue.com/default.aspx. But recently the settings have changed and i have no idea what has changed. Now when I click on the redirect link on my reportit redirects to server(which is correct) where my application resides but the address bar shows linklike http://abc1234/website/default.aspx, where abc1234 is my server name and website is the name of website in IIS.Because of this I am getting error on page that /website/default.aspx doesnot exist although its there.I have checked RSreportserver.config file and the <url> is abc1234/reportserver.and in reports the properties of link ie. right click properties>navigation> expression:the code is=left(Globals!ReportServerUrl,instrrev(Globals!ReportServerUrl,"/"))+ "website/default.aspx"I think that code is taking default.aspx from iis.!I am not even near to any conclusion.Any idea about this..?

I've installed SQL 2005 Developer on a Windows 7 box. However when I try to access the Report Manager all I get is a Home page with no features. I believe this is the result of a permissions issue? If I try to access the report server (via http://localhost/reportserver) I get the error rsAccessDenied.Can anyone tell me what permissions I'm missing? I've disabled the anonymous user on IIS and I'm an administrator on the machine (although thats kind of meaningless on Win 7). The Report server config is all as it should be according to Microsoft.grateful of any help

Configure Report Server Issue: Database Setup

OK - I've been working on this for 2 days and I'm stumped...

We've been using SRS 2005 for a little over a year where the installation has always been Services and database on a single server. Now we have a need to have the services on a separate server from the database (should be simple). Everything was going well (configuration-wise - using the Configure Report Server GUI tool) until I get to the Database Setup.

I set up the SQL login (with the sysadmin server role) on the remote SQL Server and then clicked "New..." on the Config tool (on the SRS server). The databases (ReportServer, ReportServerTempDb) were created successfully (and I gave the SQL login account access to both databases and set the RSEExecRole); however, when I try to apply the configuration - the final task: Setting Connection Info for Reporting Server fails:

The database connection settings have not been saved. Your Reporting Server may still not operate properly until appropriate settings have been applied.

Subscription Setup Postback Very Slow

Running 2008 R2; Every aspect of SSRS is fine and performs as expected except the setup of new subscriptions or making changes to existing subscriptions. Click on New Subscription and it takes 2-3 minutes for page to complete the postback and load the next page. This is true for each step in the setup process. Same applies to Edit - click on button and wait 2-3 minutes for the page to load.Any ideas on what or where to begin looking for the problem? It can take up to 15 minutes just to create a subscription.

How to resolve the print issues in ssrs bcoz i set my report layout to 12 in width to 11 inches height to see my report to get exported to pdf exactly. But i find a problem when exported to excel because the page is set up to portrait and to letter by default(which is not enough sometimes for printing). I want to set that to landscape and use legal as the page size. Can we do this dynamically instead the user setting those setting.How can we actually use the print setting and make the export functionality work smoother and print happens smoothly.Please let me know on this.

Moving Reporting Services but not the database.

Does anyone know how to go about moving reporting services to another computer without moving the database. In my case, reporting services is installed on server A whilst the database is on server B. Server A is being replaced by newer hardware giving me server C & I want to put reporting services onto server C utilising the database on server B.Is this possible? Do I still need to recreate all the reports & schedules?Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

Hello,We have many SSRS reports integrated in asp.net application. The users run the reports from the interface. The user interface has many parameters and report name in drop down boxes. When the users select the report name and related parameters and click the botton (run report), then the 'report_parameter'n table is updated and runs the report using the parameters from the table.Now, the manager wants to schedule to run each report with different parameters on weekly basis and save to the shared folders. Is there a way to accomplish this task? I used ssis script task to run the report dynamically in the past but I also need to update the report parameter table before the report is actually run, in this case. How can I do this task using SSIS or SSRS or asp.net codes?Please suggest me.Thanks and RegardsGanesh

Not able to access Reports (SSRS 2005) using servername in URL

Hi Experts,I have deployed Reports uisng localhost\reportserver on my machine in SSRS2005. Now, my problem is that: I am able to access Rerport Manager using this URL: http://localhost/reports but instead of localhost if I am giving servername (machinename) like: http://myservername/reports then it is not working. I am not able to open the Reportmanager. So, What should be the problem? Is is IP problem ? or something else?Please help me. Thatnks in advance for the reply..Thanks,K-SQL
