You set the option when you set up the log shipping using the GUI. However, as I stated, I am using Red Gate SQL Backup to do my log shipping and, while it offers an option to place a database in STANDBY, it does not specify how to choose one of the options nor which one is the default. I have two questions:SQL Server Log Shipping with Standby gives you the choice of disconnecting all users before applying the log or waiting for all users to disconnect before applying the log(s). I am using Red Gate SQL Backup to do my Log Shipping and I cannot find any information on setting this option. Does SQL Backup give you this choice?All my research into Standby says that it is for offline restores only. What is an offline restore versus an online restore?
