It's tied to the languages installed, and there are system stored procs that will tell you which is the default. If more than one language is installed then each user account may have its own default language (and date format). You can set the dateformat in SQL if you want, or just adjust to the default language/fomatting on your box.There are countless blog and support pages dedicated to the topic. The box should contain a little black square when selected.
