Have you just made any change to the screen shot of the picture?Let me know about itRegardsKumar
Kumar, instead of waiting hours for the answer from MAK, why not create a database with 3 mdf files and 2 log files and back it up and see the result. since database is empty it should not take more than 1 minute to back it up. It just takes less than 3 minutes to get answer.Do some R & D and you will get results instantly.

RE: Bread and Butter of SQL Server DBA - Part 2

you can create a database with 3 data file and 2 log file very easily. ".MDF" is just a file name extension. You can create a data file with .XYZ as extension.

RE: Bread and Butter of SQL Server DBA - Part 2

hi Mak,I'm too curious to know, how a single .bak file is listing 3 .mdf file. Whether you will be able to create more than one .mdf file for a database or whether any changes has been made to the screen shot which is shown in the picture. Please clarify it.RegardsKumar

Bread and Butter of SQL Server DBA - Part 2

Comments posted to this topic are about the item <A HREF="/articles/Backup+%2f+Restore/64353/">Bread and Butter of SQL Server DBA - Part 2</A>
