I don't know whether Elton Join is gay, even if his better-known cousin Elton John came out a few years ago, but besides being a fantastic performer, I'm pretty sure that Mercury swung both ways, just as is said about Bowie.  Point is, does it matter what a person's sexual orientation is when judging performance, whether on a stage or in an office?
