‘Show Details’ in reporting Manager allows the users to go and modify the report properties. How to disable it to users so that only the report admin can do this function and not everyone.

Joe, the show details button, shows more information but doesn't allow the users to do anything that you haven't already given them permission to do. Anything they can change via the details view they can also change by opening a report and clicking the properties tab if they have the rights to do so.
Make sure your non-admin users are not given admin rights. Review the Roles section of Books Online (SQL Server's help files) for more information. A good starting point would be http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/ms157198%28v=SQL.90%29.aspx
Most likely your non admin users will probably not need anything more than the browser role, but read up on them and decide what's best for your organization.
