Better performance

  • i have to test bulk data insertion in my db

    how to check the performance of each query

    say i am going to insert 10000 records for 5 cycle from that how can i check the performance how can i improve from that what steps i have to see and what steps i have to take for better performance.

  • Well the first and most obvious part is that you have to record a start & stop time and keep it in order to compare to other start & stop times.

    Most of the time, when doing this type of work, I set up a server side trace to capture all the calls as they occur. With that I can identify the longest running or most frequently called queries. With these identified, look at the execution plans to identify what can be done to tune the query.
