SQL 2008 link server failure to oracle

  Having a strange connection issue connecting to oracle from SQL 2008.

  Server: SQL server 2008

  Version: 10.0.2531.0

  I have a oracle client 10.2 installed on a x64 platform. For the most part the linked server to oracle works fine, but lately it’s been sporadically throwing the error below. There isn’t much in the log files to figure out what’s going on. Anyone else experiencing the same problem or know what’s going on here?

  Msg 7302, Level 16, State 1, Line 1

  Cannot create an instance of OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server

  Just wondering is your oracle listener service is up and running ?

  start---->Run --CMD

  >lsnrctl and enter

  Is that giving some message saying that listener is listening following services etc

  please let me know
