Data Flow Destination MySQL

  • I need to populate a table in MySQL with data from a SQL view. I am trying to figure out how to create the destination. I have a connection manager (provider: ODBC), but I can't use it with any of the destination items. Books Online suggests using a script component, component type destination. However, I have to create the destination code using vb script. This is where I am lost. Has anyone had luck with this? Why does Microsoft not have a ADO.NET destination connections?!?

SQL 2008 includes support for ADO.NET destination. However from your frustration I understand you are running on SQL 2005. If you can use third-party components, I would recommend you check the commercial CozyRoc ODBC Destination. It does work with MySQL and it is very fast.
