Adding another node

    Hi i am the italian newbie again 🙂

    I have installed asecond r instance of Sql server 2008 on the first node of a windows 2008 server cluster.

    While i could add the default instance to the second node without any errors, when i try to add the named instance (ABC) on the second node, i get the following error message: ""FailOver Instance "ABCD" cluster group not found". Really don't know what to check.... could you please advise?

    Windows firewall is already turned off.

    I'm having the same problem. Trying to add a second Node in the SQL Failover cluster and getting "FailOver Instance MSSQLSERVERQA cluster group not found" It seem to find only MSSQLSERVER only which is not the instance I'm trying to added.

    Any help on this problem would be appreciated.

    Hi Mike,

    I solved the issue by completing reinstalling the second node, recreating the cluster from scratch and reistalling the instance on both node. The system did not menstruate this time:-) and i was finally able to get my second node up.
