Can you find the password for SQL server on Windows SB Server 2003

  • Hi,

Firstly I need to point out that I am a complete non user of SQL and know nothing about it. I run a small wholesale company and have a MS SB Server 2003 which runs as a file server and also hosts accounting software, etc that utelises SQL (I guess). It also has pervasive v8 installed.

My problem is that I am trying to put on the software from our courier company (TNT) which stores all of the delivery addresses, postcodes, routing information etc and prints the barcode routing lables. Half way through the install it asks for a user name and password to log into the SQL server and install the TNT databases.

Trouble is that I dont know them and the company that we brought the server from doesnt know them. I have tried the server administrator log in details, which doesnt work and just about anything else it might be but to no avail.

My question is: Is there any way of getting the password or of creating a new user that could allow the installation to continue?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Dave
